At Kania Old Market in Koidu City, Kono district, the community is reeling in shock after a heartbreaking incident occurred on Sunday, 22nd February 2026. A young man, identified as Fengai Abu Sorie, allegedly stabbed his elder brother, Aiah Abu Sorie, during a dispute that turned tragic within minutes.
Residents describe the atmosphere as one of confusion and distress as people struggled to come to terms with what had happened. “It was a painful moment for the family and the entire community,” said a local resident.
The victim was rushed to the Government Hospital in Koidu City, but sadly, he did not survive. His body has been taken for a postmortem examination as authorities continue their investigation.
Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing and are appealing to the public to remain calm while the matter is being handled. Community leaders are urging families and young people to seek peaceful ways of resolving conflicts.
